Pallet Rack Inspection Protocol:
We come to your location with all the relevant safety equipment to meet all OSHA requirements and be able to perform our work safely, efficiently, and supply you with a full detailed comprehensive written report on the condition of your warehouse racking, including photos of any damage. We bring over 50 years of experience in this business and are very proud of the work we perform for our customers/partners. We designed a special Rack Inspection software system to provide our customer a report that is easy to understand while bringing the warehouse and what issues you have straight to your desk.
We provide the following services for our Visual Rack Inspections:
- We will confirm that racking is used correctly checking beams capacities against pallet weights being used.
- Ensure that safe loading capacities are adhered too.
- Review any changes to the racking system from original design of the system if drawings are provided.
- Check Frames to make sure they are bolted to the floor as per code.
- Check all anchors to make sure they are all bolted into concrete.
- Check front columns, column protectors, diagonals, horizontal bracing, tears in the frames where beam connector and teardrop column meet.
- Check beam end connectors for cracks, and bulges, from hits from fork truck forks from underneath.
- Look for load capacities or labels on beams to check if they conform to OSHA.
- We also provide capacity labels as an extra charge after inspection is completed if you require this service.
- We provide Inspections services to all different company from ambient temperature to coolers, freezers.
- Checking for end of isle barrier rail to protect system from stacking product against the Racking.
- We can send you a sample report for your viewing.
- We will do engineering calculations on beams we are concerned they do not meet the weight requirements.
- Many times, over a 20-year period a racking system that were originally designed to cope with certain weights has changed due to changes in different pallet weights, new products and different personnel.
Inspections shall also include checking racking for:

A few things to remember in regards to pallet rack safety:
- Any damages that have been identified as needing immediate replacements should be properly marked to ensure the bay or aisle of rack be unloaded and cordoned off with safety tape until replacements are completed.
- If you have a high level of damage, you should consider adding column protection to all frames that pass inspection to help lessen the constant replacement of frames, which can become very expensive over time.
- All wire decks are stated for uniformly distributed loads. If you have pallets that are fully resting on the wire deck, it’s recommended to have heavier wire deck with additional channels to support the load.
